Information is cropping up today showing that Firefox’s market share is now slightly higher than Internet Explorer, based on December 2010 figures. What’s interesting about it though, is that Firefox’s edge isn’t due to Mozilla’s marketing, but rather Google’s. Chrome has seen a slow, but steady increase in usage over the last year, and its this that has dropped IE sufficiently low enough for Firefox to gain the upper hand in Europe.
With more people adopting a wider range of standards-compliant web browsers, we can finally look towards a brighter, more accessible web, as well as pushing innovation within the web browser market.
