This is a super handy tool from Digital Rebellion for calculating aspect ratios. While it’s especially handy if you’re creating website designs with video embeds and you want to avoid the dreaded ‘black bars’ on either size of the rendered video, you can also use it to drop in placeholder images in the websites you’re developing, or correctly-sized dummy images on your designs in Photoshop etc. so there’s no unpleasant surprises when you get around to cutting up and building the site itself.
We used it a while back when creating the Simplex Videos website, which needed to look spot-on for the website to come across with the intended impact.
